Why is my on hand amount not showing the quantity I am expecting to have in stock?

You may sometimes notice a discrepancy in your inventory counts. This is usually caused by deleted orders, deleted or changed items on an order.

Follow the steps below to synchronize and confirm the counts:

1. Click on Tools from the MVE menu and select Maintenance and Synchronize Inventory

a. Click on Yes at the prompt to update the quantity purchased and sold for all locations

b. You can click on No at the second prompt to synchronize the imported inventory items

**You can also synchronize an individual item from the Inventory Listing screen (frames, spectacle lens, etc...) by selecting the desired item and clicking on the Synchronize button**

2. Once the item/s has been synchronized, review the count for accuracy

3. If the counts are still incorrect, you can review the transactions for the individual item from the Add/Modify Inventory window

a. Double click the desired item and click on the Transactions tab

b. With the Transactions radio button selected, you will see a list of transactions for the item (received product, adjustment, transfers, etc...)

c. Using the Sales radio button, you will see a list of the orders where the item was sold

1. Any record with a Source of Inventory will count against your on hand count

4. Total Transactions - Total Items Sold from inventory = On Hand

5. You can adjust the counts if they are not correct by adding an adjustment transaction

**Inventory Counts should be Synchronized prior to running inventory reports or a physical count**
