How to setup MVE for Medicare Billing (rev)

Setup the Insurance Company

1. Add Medicare to your Insurance Setup (File > Setup > Insurance > Insurance Companies)

a. Enter the company's contact information

b. Select the "Medicare" as the Insurance Type

2. Add the Insurance Plans from  (File > Setup > Insurance > Insurance Plans)

Bill Medicare as Primary

Verify the information below on the claim before generating the Ansi file:

1. Claims Module > Referring Provider tab

a. Fill out Box 17 with the Ordering Provider's information using Qualifier "DK - Ordering Provider"

2. Create the claim file from the Provider tab

Bill Medicare as Secondary

Verify the information below on the claim before generating the Ansi file:

1. Select Medicare as the Secondary Insurance on the Claims module

a. Claims Module > Patient tab -- "Select Primary Insurance..." button

2. Select the Primary Insurance (Last Insurance Company Billed) as the Primary Insurance

b. Claims Module > Referring Provider tab -- "Select Secondary Insurance..." button

3. Create the claim file from the Provider tab
