Exam Status Revisions

The Exam Status options have been modified to enhance the user experience. The ‘Open’ and ‘Locked’ radio buttons have been removed, and those statuses are only available in the Status drop-down menu. A new system-defined status labeled ‘On Hold’ has also been added to the Status drop-down menu. This status option will be similar to the ‘Locked’ status, however, placing an exam ‘On Hold’ will not automatically generate an Exam All letter. It will also allow Physicians to modify the exam as needed without entering a password.

To Use Exam Status Options

From within the Exam module:

  1. Click the Assessment tab
  2. In the bottom left corner, click the Status field to view the Exam Status options:
    1. Open – This exam can be modified by anyone that has access to the Exam module
    2. On Hold – The exam is saved as ‘read-only’ for anyone except the Physician who originally created the exam
    3. Locked – The exam is saved as ‘read-only’ for anyone who views the exam and cannot be modified unless the status is changed and the Physician’s unlock password is entered
    4. Add New Value – This is used to enter a new status (any statuses that are manually entered by the user are not system-defined and will only act as an additional label for exams)
  3. Once the Status has been selected, save the exam and close when finished
