Is there a way to add a new 'appointment reason' for the Online Scheduler?

Yes. By default, the following Appointment Reasons will display for patients scheduling an online appointment: Contact Lens Exam (New Wearer), Contact Lens Exam (Wearer), Medical Exam, and Routine Exam/Annual Exam. 

To Add Additional Appointment Reasons:

  1. Have the Administrator login to the Global Portal 
  2. From the main toolbar, select Configurations
  3. Under Configurations, select Appointment Reason 
  4. Click the New button
  5. Enter the new 'Appointment Reason' details
    1. Name - What will display as an option for the Appointment Reason
    2. Slot Duration (in minutes) - Value used by the system to calculate the available hours visible to patients when creating an appointment
    3. Applies to new patients - If selected, this reason will only be visible to new patients
    4. Applies to existent patients - If selected, this reason will only be visible to existing patients
    5. Active - If this is unchecked, this appointment reason will NOT display as an option when the patient requests an appointment
  6. Once finished, click the Save button
  7. Repeat steps to add any other Appointment Reasons
