How to Add ICD Codes to the Diagnosis List

If a diagnosis code is not available from within the Exam module, there is an option to import or manually add the ICD code in the Diagnosis Setup window.

To Import an ICD Code

  1. Go to File > Setup > Diagnosis
  2. Click the Import button
  3. Enter part the diagnosis code or the description of the code in the Search field
  4. Click the Search button
  5. A list of results will appear
  6. Tick the box next to the code you wish to import to the ‘Diagnosis List’
  7. Click the OK button
  8. The selected code will now display in the ‘Diagnosis List’
  9. OPTIONAL: Add any additional information (mark as ‘Favorite’, set a ‘Sort Order’) in the Details section
  10. Click the Save icon when finished

To Manually Add an ICD Code

NOTE: If you decide to manually enter an ICD code, please be aware that you are responsible for the accuracy of the information that is linked to the code, as well as any rejections that may result from submitting the code.
  1. Go to File > Setup > Diagnosis
  2. Click the Add button
  3. A blank line will appear
  4. Enter the information for the code in the Details section:
    1. Code – The ICD Diagnosis Code
    2. Type – Either ICD-9 or ICD-10
    3. Favorite – Will display towards the top of the list when selecting the diagnosis code
    4. Mapping – Map this code to the updated code (if this is an ICD-9 Code)
    5. Sort Order – Enter a value to determine where this code appears in the Diagnosis List
    6. Description – The description of this code
  5. Click the Save icon when finished
